Colonel Irvine School is located in the northwest community of Highwood, serving the communities of Beddington, Country Hills, Harvest Hills, Cambrian, North Haven, Highwood and Rosemont. Feeder elementary schools to Colonel Irvine are Beddington Heights, Brentwood, Buchanan, Cambrian Heights, Catherine Nichols Gunn, Collingwood, Dr. J.K. Mulloy, Highwood, North Haven, and Rosemont. Upon completion of study at Colonel Irvine, most of our students attend John G. Diefenbaker or James Fowler High School.
About the School
The school was built in 1956 and is situated on 7.47 acres. The school has 36 classrooms, 2 gymnasiums, a music room, library, three computer labs, and a hot lunch program being served in our lunchroom. In September 2005, we became a middle school as we now receive grade 6 students from the community of Beddington Heights.
