Queensland Downs School
School Location
Queensland Downs School is located in the southeast community of Queensland Downs and serves the communities of Queensland and Deer Ridge. The designated junior high school is Wilma Hansen, and graduates of Wilma Hansen move onto Lord Beaverbrook High School.
About the School
The school was built in 1976 and is situated on 9.21 acres with a large playing field (shared with Wilma Hansen Junior High School) and a creative playground. The school has the capacity to house 14 classrooms. At present there are 10 homerooms, a Grade 2 classroom supported in AM through class size initiative, and a music room. We also have a large multi-purpose room with an adjoining kitchen, and a high school-sized gymnasium. Our beautiful library is the centre of our learning through information literacy.
