School Location

Varsity Acres School is located in the community of Varsity Acres, next to the Varsity Community Center. Some of our families make use of the before and after school care at the Community Center adjacent to the school. This program is open to children in any area of the city. For this reason, we endeavor to accommodate some of our out of district children who attend that program; out of district students are, therefore, accepted at our school as space permits. Varsity Acres School serves the following NW communities in Calgary: Bowness, Greenwood Village, Citadel, Montgomery, Scenic Acres, Silver Springs, Crestmont, Valley Ridge, Varsity Acres, Tuscany, Sherwood, Ranchlands, Hawkwood, Arbour Lake, Hamptons and University Housing. 435 (85%) students are bussed to school.

About the School

The school was built in 1965 and is situated on 7.66 acres. The school has 21 classrooms, 2 relocatables, and 1 portable. It has a large library, a gymnasium, a music room, 1 computer lab, and a gym. The school has a French Immersion Program. Special Education students are integrated into the French Immersion classes.
